
Dr. Kate Smith specializes in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. She is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She is on staff in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Good Samaritan Hospital.
Dr. Smith earned her medical degree through the University of Cincinnati Physician Scientist Training Program in 2003 as part of a combined degree program, earning both a Doctor of Medicine degree and a Ph.D. in Molecular and Developmental Biology. She completed her Internship and Residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in 2007, and then completed a Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, CT in 2010.
Dr. Smith is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, as well as a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the Ohio State Medical Association, the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine and Alpha Omega Alpha. During her Fellowship she was awarded the Faculty Teaching Award in 2009. She has co-authored a number of scientific publications, as part of her own research projects and as a consultant for others. Her work interests include perinatal epidemiology and biostatistics, management of labor and delivery, preterm birth and extreme prematurity, and pregnancy complicated by obesity.
Dr. Smith and her husband, Doug Smith, have 4 children: Julian, Lillian, Eleanor and Mabel. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities with her family. Dr. Smith’s sister works as a nurse on Labor and Delivery, and her mother recently retired from her position as a surgical nurse here at Good Samaritan Hospital. |
